Founding Product Designer San Francisco Full-time

This is a rare early design hire at a well-backed, fast-moving AI startup solving a problem that every growing company faces but almost no one has cracked. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO, shaping both the product and the design culture from the ground up.

Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors and built by veterans of top tech companies, this startup is building an AI-native product that helps organizations stay coherent as they scale, giving everyone from individual contributors to executives real-time clarity on what's happening, why it matters, and what to do next. It's a mission-critical tool, not a nice-to-have.

The team is lean, deliberate, and moves fast. Design is a first-class citizen here, you won't be handed specs to execute. You'll help define them.

• Partner directly with the CEO on product strategy and direction, your input will shape the roadmap, not just the pixels
• Take early, ambiguous product ideas and transform them into sharp requirements, clear user flows, and polished interfaces
• Design across multiple surfaces: desktop app, web dashboard, notifications, and AI-generated outputs
• Rapidly prototype and iterate in Figma and interactive mocks, then test them with real users to close the feedback loop fast
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure every design is buildable, performant, and scalable
• Build and maintain a growing design system: components, patterns, and documentation that scales with the product
• Define metrics and measurement frameworks so you know whether your design decisions are actually working
• Run lightweight usability tests and user research to stay grounded in operator reality
• Contribute to design culture through critiques, mentorship, and sharing craft with the broader team

• 3 years designing UX and UI for software products of real scale and complexity
• Strong visual craft you have an eye for composition, typography, and the nuances of modern AI product design
• Deep fluency in Figma and prototyping tools; you use them to think, not just to deliver
• A track record of owning the design process end-to-end from discovery through launch
• The ability to drive decisions with structured thinking, clear rationale, and user-centered evidence
• Experience bringing data into the design process defining metrics, interpreting signals, iterating accordingly

• Experience designing information tools, internal workflows, or operational systems
• Prior work designing or prototyping AI-powered or agentic experiences
• Consumer product design background

• Salary range $150,000 - $230,000
