Data Governance Engineer - Chime Financial, Inc

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based data governance pipelines to enforce data quality, lineage, and compliance across multiple data sources.
• Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to integrate AI models into governance workflows, ensuring ethical and compliant model usage.
• Implement and monitor data cataloging, metadata management, and automated data profiling tools to support enterprise-wide data stewardship.
• Define and enforce data access policies, data masking, and encryption standards in alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and training to cross-functional teams on data governance best practices and tool usage.

• Proven experience building data pipelines and governance solutions using Python.
• Strong understanding of data governance concepts, metadata management, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML model deployment and monitoring within data pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.
