We're assisting a profitable Enterprise AI Customer Support startup with their search for senior/staff ML research engineers. The role will be onsite in their SF office.
What you'll do:- Develop models for customer support tasks that exceed the performance of closed source models
- Experiment with small open-source models to drive order of magnitude reductions in latency across channels
- Break down ambiguous research ideas into clear, iterative milestones and roadmaps.
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or research
- Experience fine-tuning and deploying LLMs in production environments.
- Experience at early-stage startups, autonomous vehicles, agentic AI companies, multi-modal AI companies
- Experience gathering data/generating synthetic data, performing supervised fine-tuning and RL, and working on evaluations and deployments.
- Familiar with SFT, FL, DPO, PPO, GRPO
- Experience with voice/speech
- Experience working with large open source LLMs
- Prior experience working with multi-modal models.
