Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA). As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. They craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges, guiding customers as they refactor existing applications or design entirely new cloud-based systems. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) drives revenue, adoption, and growth from small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including public sector.
This role will serve as a subject‑matter expert, working directly with AWS customers to design cloud‑based analytics solutions using Amazon Redshift and the broader SQL Analytics ecosystem.
- Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
- Provide advanced technical knowledge to domain‑aligned GTM teams to unblock customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
- Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:
Invent, etc. - Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best‑in‑class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
- Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
- Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- 3+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
- Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
- Knowledge of open table formats, especially Iceberg.
- Understanding of data foundation principles supporting agentic systems.

Benefits and CompensationThe base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
