We’re looking for exceptional founding engineers to build the consumer security layer for web
3. Working at Pocket Universe protects people from fraudulent transactions designed to steal blockchain assets. Our mission is to push the status quo on security and UX such that even your parents could use crypto safely. Our first product uses transaction simulations to protect users from scams. We’ve had insane growth and are protecting over 50,000 people and over $100M in blockchain assets.
We save people from fraud almost every day which leads to our amazing product‑led growth (>30% each month for the last 8 months). If we keep this up, we’ll have 1 million users in a year! We’re a team of two that has already raised $1.25M from the likes of Alliance DAO, Air Tree and Tangent and we’ll be raising more in the coming months.
You’ll work directly with the CEO who was a Tech Lead at Facebook, building an operating system for AR glasses from scratch.
- Develop a delightful user experience to keep users safe with our flagship product, the Pocket Universe Chrome extension (React, Tailwind CSS) and mobile app (React Native).
- Improve our security engine by developing novel techniques to defend against attacks (Rust, Solidity).
- Innovate at the edge of what’s possible in order to make the end user feel as safe as possible, e.g. building smart contract wallets enabled by EIP‑4337 and initiatives such as wallet insurance.
- Work on product, talk to customers, and help define our long‑term strategy, touching all areas of the company at least a little bit.
- You want to grow.
- You care about the problem and want to make a difference.
- You ship and get things done.
- You’re either in San Francisco or willing to relocate so that we can work together in person full time.
- You’ll be engineer number 1 or 2 and help build the foundations of our technical architecture for our projected user growth.
- We have fun. We’re doing this startup because we enjoy solving hard problems and making a difference.
Send your application to founders with a snippet of code you’re proud of or a short explanation of an interesting technical problem you solved.
