Job Description & How to Apply Below

We're looking for a talented, senior engineering professional ready to take their career to new heights at one of the world's most influential companies.

As a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Enterprise Technology, Compute Platform Engineering team, you will engineer enterprise-scale Microsoft Hyper‑V infrastructure across global data centers, partnering inclusively across engineering, operations, security, and capacity teams to deliver resilient, performant virtualization services that support tens of thousands of workloads.

Job Responsibilities
  • Architect Hyper‑V cluster designs across global pools, including WSFC, live migration, S2D, and vSwitch/SET topologies.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance enforcement, and decommissioning using Power Shell, DSC, and platform APIs.
  • Develop and enhance a custom C#/.NET 8 workload management platform to scale operational workflows and orchestration.
  • Benchmark compute and storage performance using industry-standard tooling to validate changes and guide capacity decisions.
  • Diagnose full‑stack issues across compute, storage, networking, clustering, and hypervisor layers using structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Evaluate proposed server BOMs for Hyper‑V suitability, providing performance‑focused feedback on CPU, memory, storage, and network characteristics.
  • Harden environments by partnering with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce platform baselines at scale.
  • Document reference architectures, decision records, and operational runbooks to improve repeatability and auditability.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance that raises the bar for platform quality.
  • Uses enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate analysis of complex infrastructure signals and documentation of mitigation options, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Leads reuse‑first adoption of AI‑assisted practices across delivery and automation routines to reduce recurring issues, ensuring changes are validated, traceable and auditable, and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines, plus 5+ years of relevant hands‑on experience in enterprise or large‑scale environments.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Hyper‑V at scale, including WSFC, live migration, S2D, and virtual networking (vSwitch/SET).
  • Strong Power Shell skills for automation, operational tooling, and configuration management.
  • Demonstrated experience performing full‑stack performance auditing across compute, storage, networking, and hypervisor layers.
  • Proven ability to analyze and optimize storage performance in virtualized environments (throughput, latency, IOPS, queueing).
  • Experience with data‑center‑scale automation/configuration tooling (e.g., DSC, SCCM, Ansible, or equivalent).
  • Ability to plan and deliver production changes with disciplined risk management, including zero‑downtime upgrade strategies.
  • Working proficiency in C#/.NET (or equivalent) to maintain and extend automation/orchestration services.
  • Experience building or operating CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for infrastructure automation artifacts.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI‑assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience operating dual‑hypervisor environments (e.g., VMware ESXi and/or KVM in addition to Hyper‑V).
  • Strong server hardware fluency (Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, NVMe, GPU) and comfort translating workload needs into platform requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience with advanced virtual networking concepts (VLANs, SDN, teaming/SET, load balancing patterns).
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center tooling (e.g., VMM, SCOM, SCCM) in large environments.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability remediation workflows (e.g., Qualys) and baseline enforcement at scale.
  • Practical performance tooling experience (e.g., elbencho, VMFleet, diskspd, fio) for repeatable benchmarking.
