Employment Type:

Contract Pay Rate Range: $50 to $52

Position Overview

Responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization s hosting environments and operating systems across both on‑premise and cloud platforms.

This role oversees the administration, configuration, and management of both virtual and physical infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and performing at optimal levels.

The position evaluates system performance and issues to guide both short‑ and long‑term decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain infrastructure systems within assigned technologies.
  • Monitor system performance and availability, analyze performance metrics, and recommend improvements to ensure stability, scalability, and uptime.
  • Provide ongoing production support, including system monitoring, reporting, and ensuring availability of IT services.
  • Act as a Tier III escalation point for complex technical issues, performing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective solutions across hardware and software environments.
  • Execute infrastructure changes such as OS updates, security and non‑security patches, and system upgrades to address vulnerabilities, evolving threats, and lifecycle requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver effective support and maintain strong service standards.
  • Uphold and contribute to the organization s commitment to safeguarding system integrity and protecting sensitive data.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to support infrastructure and respond to incidents as needed.
  • Remain informed on emerging technologies, industry developments, and best practices.
  • Complete assignments accurately and within required timelines while ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other Systems Engineers, supporting their development and incorporating feedback to continuously improve team performance.
  • Follow established change management processes when implementing system updates or modifications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management; this summary is not intended to represent a complete list of responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on experience administering Red Hat Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as:
    • EC2
    • S3
    • RDS
    • VPC
    • Cloud Watch
  • Working knowledge of data‑at‑rest encryption practices.
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Bash).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Background working in mid‑to‑large scale enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to gather, interpret, and present data effectively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, including active listening and responsiveness to user needs.
  • Ability to handle varying customer scenarios professionally while maintaining a positive approach.
  • Proven problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast‑paced environments, manage deadlines, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
