We are looking for an experienced UX writer to join the Search team and help shape the user experience in Discover. The role combines content design, storytelling, and AI prompting to transform how users find information on the Google app.

As a UX writer, you are an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You help set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. You regularly use empathy, logic, and data to inform content choices that include the right words and complementary data and images.

In this role you’ll combine your skills in content design, storytelling, and AI prompting to help continue transforming the home tab of the Google app.

The team's mission is to bring together information from across the web. The team is responsible for helping people stay in the know and explore new things, all without having to search. In Google Search, we’re reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: 159, (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits. Equity is granted exclusively and discretionally by Alphabet Inc. on the basis of an agreement concluded between you and Alphabet Inc.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 6 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, editorial, marketing, or related fields, and leading content strategy projects
• Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects
• Experience with Large Language Models, NLP, or Generative AI
• Include a portfolio, website, or other relevant link to your work in your resume, with a viewable link or access instructions

• 5 years of experience interacting with executive leadership
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization
• Experience developing information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites, including localization and accessibility best practices
• Experience with editorial writing for digital publications or blogs
• Experience with AI prompting and evaluations
• Knowledge of product analytics, with the ability to make data-informed writing decisions

• Partner with design, research, product, and engineering to explore and develop new AI features in Discover
• Write and contribute to AI prompts; work closely with engineering to test and iterate
• Experiment with prompting and model training strategies to improve genAI content quality
• Help the team identify new, compelling ways to deliver content from across the web
• Create guidelines and principles that help shape the use of AI and how we deliver information to users
