Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Product Manager, Payments

Overview

Modern Treasury is hiring a Product Manager to help build and grow our Payments product. Payments enables companies to move money across the world. You will own core capabilities like onboarding, verifying identity, meeting compliance requirements, accessing payment rails, and managing liquidity over fiat and stablecoin, all through Modern Treasury. You’ll bring products to life using advanced AI tools and leading engineering and customer-facing teams.

As a Product Manager on Payments, you will work with engineering, compliance, partnerships, and customer-facing teams to ship the infrastructure that powers payments for some of the largest and fastest‑growing companies in the economy. Modern Treasury is often the most critical piece of infrastructure our customers use, and the Payments product sits at the center of how money actually moves.

We are looking for someone who has built payments products before and is excited to go deep on the full lifecycle of money movement — from a customer's first onboarding moment through real‑time payments at scale, across both US and international rails.

About Modern Treasury

Modern Treasury provides trusted infrastructure for money movement. The company helps teams launch and scale payment experiences in days, not months. With best‑in‑class developer tools and a single API for fiat and stable coins—plus built‑in compliance, ledgering, and reporting—Modern Treasury enables businesses to move money instantly, reliably, and at scale.

About the Role

As a Payments Product Manager, you will own products that make up Modern Treasury's Payments offering. You will leverage AI where possible and push the envelope of what AI‑enabled product execution looks like. You will be responsible for researching, designing, and delivering products related to:

  • Onboarding & Compliance:
Help manage the experience of getting customers and their end users onto the platform quickly and safely. Design onboarding flows that reduce time‑to‑first‑payment while meeting the requirements of banks, partners, and regulators. Work closely with compliance and risk teams to translate KYC, KYB, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements into product.
  • Payment rails:
Go deep into the design of the rails that power payments — domestic schemes like ACH, wire, and RTP, international and cross‑border rails, and emerging options including stable coins. Prioritize which rails to add and how to expose them in a unified, reliable way. Work with Customer Success and Support teams to ensure reliability and good support in cases of incidents.
  • Liquidity:
Define how funds are funded, held, and moved so that customers can settle payments efficiently. Work on product capabilities that give customers visibility and control over balances and liquidity across accounts and rails. Interface with existing bank partners and stablecoin partners, and help scale the Payments across geographies.
Who We're Looking For
  • AI Fluency:
Build and run AI‑native workflows across the business. Identify inefficiencies, scope solutions, and use the best AI tools available to create compounding leverage for the team. No need to train models, but be fluent in applying modern AI tools to real business problems.
  • Payments experience:
Have built payments products before and be familiar with both US and international payments. Understand how rails work end to end and what it takes to move money reliably at scale.
  • Cross‑border expertise:
Have experience with both US and international cross‑border payment rails and understand the operational and regulatory realities of moving money across borders.
  • Interest in or experience with stable coins:
Have experience with, or a strong interest in, stable coins. Have studied how they work and have opinions about how they fit into the future of global money movement.
  • Technical fluency:
Be comfortable going deep with engineers on the details of payment systems. Read API docs and bank or scheme specs, dive into data including SQL, while knowing when not to.
  • Customer obsession:
Spend time with customers and prospects, understand their business models, flows of funds, and the support they need. Translate those needs…
