Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) team at eero owns the servers, software, and infrastructure that power eero’s global factory operations. We work at the intersection of hardware, software, and manufacturing, building systems that are reliable, observable, and increasingly secure. This hybrid role blends infrastructure engineering with security practice to define factory security at scale.

Role Overview

You will own a fleet of 300+ servers across eero’s contract manufacturer sites and RMA operations, ensuring proper configuration, maintenance, and patching. Concurrently, you will serve as the primary point of contact for factory security posture, operationalizing eero’s security standards, tracking remediation, and building reporting infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure (≈70%)
    • Configure, maintain, and manage eero’s factory and RMA server fleet (300+ servers).
    • Act as connective tissue between the factory floor and eero’s AWS cloud infrastructure.
    • Ensure all servers are current on OS updates, software patches, and security baselines per eero Security guidelines.
    • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions to keep factory lines operational and observable.
    • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues in collaboration with on‑site factory teams.
    • Identify manual processes and drive toward automated, repeatable solutions.
    • Evaluate and recommend hardware investments to improve infrastructure security posture, including assessment of hardened, tamper‑resistant server platforms to replace legacy hardware.
  • Security Posture (≈30%)
    • Serve as DRI for information security posture across manufacturing, hardware, and supply chain.
    • Define and build the factory security reporting framework: metrics, dashboards, monthly posture reports, and quarterly executive summaries.
    • Own remediation tracking for factory‑layer security findings across the server fleet and network infrastructure.
    • Represent factory security posture in eero Security team reviews, owning action items and communicating constraints.
    • Develop data‑driven recommendations for security tooling and infrastructure investments; present to leadership.
    • Act as initial responder for security events affecting factory infrastructure; coordinate with eero Security team per incident response procedures.
    • Support security audits and compliance assessments with evidence, documentation, and remediation status.
    • Extend posture coverage to third‑party partner environments, including test labs, reliability labs, and validation labs.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • US government security clearance of top secret or above, or experience in a professional field or military.
  • Ability to commute to the specified work site.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with Linux systems administration.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking fundamentals and application of IP protocols such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, and SNMP.
  • Experience managing large server fleets.
  • Experience in vulnerability testing and auditing.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams, including operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in networking fundamentals, security, databases (relational and/or No

SQL), and operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows).
  • Knowledge of AWS infrastructure.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: application security frameworks, security code reviews, incident response, security infrastructure, penetration testing, mobile security, cloud security, AI security, identity and access controls.
