Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to accelerate our growing Education business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice, working closely with Education Technology companies. Your broad responsibilities will include owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific projects; defining and designing architectures; developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications are constructed on the AWS platform;

and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

• Own technical engagements and drive project success.
• Define and design AWS architectures, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and application construction on the platform.
• Act as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
• Help customers design and create cloud computing architectures.
• Provide strategic advisory and deep‑dive technical discussions on design and architecture.
• Deliver technical presentations (whiteboard, group, and large presentations).
• Support web services development/deployment, cloud computing operations, management, and security.
• Travel up to 30% of the time.

• 8+ years of experience in a specific technology domain (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Technical presentation experience (whiteboard, small/large group).
• Technical – web services development/deployment and cloud computing experience.
• Operational – web site/service operations, management, and security.
• Ability to travel 30%.
