Role Overview

Seeking a Manager for District Cash Services – District Cash Support to lead cash data analytics, currency and coin model management, capacity planning, management information systems (MIS), and innovation initiatives. Drive strategic business decisions for cash operations and champion innovative solutions across the Federal Reserve System. Encourage adoption of modern analytical tools at Reserve Banks nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive data, analysis, and metrics to support cash operations management
  • Provide strategic vision for project management, personnel development, and currency/coin operations
  • Maintain team agility to adapt strategies based on evolving circumstances and new information
  • Partner effectively alongside the Compliance team as well as Cash Operations plus other SF Fed departments including Facilities Management, Data Insights + Analytics, Legal, Police Services, IT, People + Culture, Audit, Financial Management, and Fed Cash Services
  • Build policies and guidelines for analytics, innovation, inventory management, and technical improvements across teams, SF Fed, and the broader System
  • Advocate for District Cash Services through the Fed Cash Services District Liaison channel
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, providing mentorship, and professional development for direct reports, including senior individual contributors, specialists, and interns
  • Manage performance planning, succession planning, compensation decisions, and when necessary, terminations
  • Define team goals, strategies, and objectives aligned with District Cash Services, SF Fed, and System priorities
  • Develop departmental functional strategy and tactical plans
  • Support access management, vendor management, supplier diversity, and information security initiatives
  • Monitor industry trends and cash-related policy changes, providing recommendations to executive leadership and System collaborators
Required Qualifications
  • Typically, 7+ years of relevant work experience in a fast paced, highly regulated operations environment
  • Typically, 5+ years of experience in managing or leading teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Energetic, service-oriented approach
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to make sound independent decisions under pressure
  • Track record of prioritizing, leading, and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Experience analyzing and reporting complex data to inform strategic business decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Experience with bank cash operations is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience with strategic influence across multiple business divisions
  • Knowledge of and curiosity about emerging technologies (Cloud, AI, RPA, etc.)
  • Proficiency in visualization software (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Programming experience (R, Python, etc.)
  • Advanced skills in MS Power Automate, SQL, or database management

San Francisco:
Min $133,300 - $212,800 | Los Angeles: $121,200 - $193,700 | Seattle: $120,000 - $191,600 | Phoenix: $106,600 - $170,200 | Salt Lake City: $106,600 - $168,200
