Senior Delivery Consultant - Modernization, AWS Professional Services

Overview

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking a skilled Sr. Delivery Consultant – Application Modernization to join AWS. In this role, you will work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You’ll be a key leader in driving customer success, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

As a Sr. Delivery Consultant – Application Modernization, you will lead the architecture of complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to each customer. You will work closely with stakeholders, gather requirements, assess current applications, propose effective migration strategies, and guide customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions. You will lead implementation, ensure adherence to best practices, optimize performance, and manage risks throughout the project.

• Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts.
• Lead or serve as a tech lead for high‑performing consulting teams.

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of consulting, design, and implementation experience in serverless distributed solutions.
• Experience leading application architecture, design, and modernization projects, including cloud‑based solutioning, with AI and automation.
• 5+ years of architecting/operating solutions built on one or more cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.

• Experience communicating technical concepts to a non‑technical audience.
• AWS experience preferred, with proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, Cloud Formation, etc.).
• Experience with automation and scripting (Terraform, Python).
• Experience leading large‑scale software development and modernization initiatives across multiple programming languages (Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, microservices) and generative AI tools/technologies.
• Proven ability to lead software engineering best practices across testing, source control, code reviews, and deployment/release management processes.
