Security is a P0 priority. They’re now hiring a Head of Security – a TLM-shaped player‑coach who will own the security roadmap, build and lead a lean team (inheriting 2, growing to 4 by EOY, doubling by end of next year), and turn security maturity into a direct revenue driver by interfacing with CISOs at large health systems. This is not a GRC or compliance role – it’s an engineering leadership role with real product and business impact.

• Define and own the security roadmap across product, cloud, corporate systems, and operations - balancing risk reduction with company velocity
• Build, hire, and lead a high-performing security team from the ground up
• Set the bar for application and infrastructure security - embedding secure-by-default patterns into product design and shipping
• Own incident response end-to-end: detection, investigation, communication, and systemic fixes
• Interface with CISOs at large enterprise customers to improve security posture and enable sales - turning security maturity into a revenue driver
• Lead security reviews, audits, and customer conversations (HIPAA, SOC
  2) to build and maintain trust
• Oversee identity, device security, internal systems, and access controls as the company scales

• 6+ years in security engineering with deep expertise in application security and/or cloud security
• 3+ years leading and growing security teams - ideally built a security function 0-to-1 at a startup
• Strong software engineering background - shipped production code within the last 1-2 years
• Breadth across security pillars:
  App Sec, Cloud Sec, Corp Sec, Incident Response
• Experience in a regulated industry (Health Tech, Fin Tech, crypto) or at a company with a high bar for security (Stripe, Figma, Netflix, Databricks calibre)
• Comfortable across Python, Node.js, Go, Type Script, and AWS
• Leverages AI and automation to solve security challenges
• TLM/player-coach mindset - genuinely wants to stay technical, not pure strategy
• Strong communicator - credible interfacing with enterprise CISOs
• Based in SF or willing to travel frequently to the Bay Area
