Job Summary

Information Systems and Technology Analyst – Full‑time, 40 hours per week (Monday 8:00AM‑5:00PM, Tuesday 8:00AM‑5:00PM, Wednesday 8:00AM‑7:30PM, Friday 8:00AM‑1:30PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours).

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor physical and virtual network and server infrastructure including hardware, software, real‑time monitoring tools, peripherals, and devices.
  • Assist with infrastructure changes and upgrades to limit service interruptions.
  • Administer automated deployment of software and updates over the network.
  • Monitor and maintain security control of City network and server infrastructure, configure firewall rules, verify user accessibility, identify vulnerabilities, and apply security updates as needed.
  • Monitor disaster recovery and backup processes, verify backups and recoverability.
  • Ensure database security by preparing access and control policies and reviewing permissions.
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor City‑wide telecommunications systems including voice and data communications infrastructure and equipment.
  • Maintain user accounts, access groups, extensions, and voicemail boxes; troubleshoot system‑wide outages.
  • Participate in systems and infrastructure conversion, installation, and maintenance projects; define requirements, methods, and end objectives in consultation with end users; coordinate project activities with IT Manager, staff, users, and vendors.
  • Maintain information on scheduled systems maintenance, including upgrades and outages.
  • Respond to and resolve user inquiries and complaints; accelerate escalation to vendor representatives as required.
  • Research and recommend new trends, vendor solutions, and technologies; implement improvements upon approval.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required; serve as a Disaster Service Worker when required.
Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in cloud computing/cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
  • Familiar with compliance/cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, CSA, etc.).

  • Knowledge of government procurement and vendor relations.
Qualifications
  • Principles, practices, and techniques of public administration, including municipal government operations.
  • Modern principles and practices of installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and monitoring application, network, server, and telecommunications systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with physical and virtual network and server infrastructure and real‑time monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of VMware and Hyper‑V virtualization software.
  • Information security principles, including cybersecurity protocols and applications.
  • Project cycle principles and vendor relationship management.
  • Knowledge of various IT platforms, operating systems, and software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, SQL database, reporting tools).
  • Cloud computing solutions.
  • Relational database management principles and systems integration.
  • Ability to write and maintain user and technical operating instructions and documentation.
  • Understanding of department operations and functions.
  • Staying up‑to‑date with developments, literature, and information related to programs.
  • Modern office practices and equipment usage.
  • Customer‑service techniques.
