We are seeking a hands-on Network/IT Support Technician based out of San Francisco to provide on-site technical support during the first week of operations for a new office. This role will focus on validating network performance, resolving connectivity issues, assisting end users, and ensuring all workplace technology is fully operational.
Key Responsibilities- Network Validation & Testing
- Validate Wi-Fi and wired network performance using standard tools (e.g., speed, latency, packet loss, jitter)
- Verify proper configuration and operation of DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and firewall access
- Conduct coverage testing and identify weak signal areas or interference issues
- Document findings and upscale issues to network vendors or internal teams as needed
- Connectivity Troubleshooting & Vendor Coordination
- Diagnose and resolve end-user connectivity issues (wired and wireless)
- Act as the on-site liaison with ISP and managed service providers to coordinate issue resolution
- Track and manage incidents through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up
- Device Installation & Setup
- Install and configure network-connected devices including printers, PoE-powered sensors, and IoT devices
- Verify device connectivity, firmware status, and integration with internal systems
- Ensure proper labeling, cable management, and physical setup standards
- Audio/Visual (A/V) Support
- Deploy, configure, and test conference room A/V systems (video conferencing, displays, microphones, speakers)
- Troubleshoot common issues with platforms such as Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet
- Provide basic user guidance for conference room technology
- End-User Support
- Provide hands-on support for employee devices (laptops, peripherals, docking stations)
- Troubleshoot OS-level issues (macOS/Windows), VPN access, and corporate applications
- Manage and resolve support tickets using the company’s ITSM tool
- Deliver high-quality, responsive user support during the office launch period
- 2+ years of hands-on IT support experience in an office environment
- Core networking fundamentals (e.g., basic network layers; differences between ARP vs. MAC address tables; DNS vs. DHCP
- Experience with endpoint troubleshooting (macOS and/or Windows)
- Hands-on experience with physical network setup, including racking equipment and patching
- Experience with A/V conferencing systems and common collaboration tools, including setup and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with common tools such as SSH, SNMP, AWS, Git Hub, Terraform, and modern AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude, Codex)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Experience supporting new office openings or IT deployments
- Familiarity with enterprise Wi‑Fi platforms (e.g., Juniper/Mist, Aruba, Cisco)
- Basic knowledge of structured cabling and PoE infrastructure
