Under the direction of the ERP Technical Manager, the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Administrator is responsible for administering, monitoring, and maintaining the organization's Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment. This role manages cloud resources across multiple compartments, implements & maintains Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, monitors platform health through OCI Observability services, and ensures the security, availability, and performance of enterprise OCI cloud resources.

The OCI Administrator also supports system upgrades, automation, troubleshooting, and adherence to organizational security and compliance standards. This position serves as the technical lead for OCI operations, working closely with Oracle Support, infrastructure teams, security teams, database administrators, and application owners to resolve complex production issues.

Department Overview

IT Business Systems Technologies provides application and technical support for UCSF administrative systems. The Cloud ERP Financial Applications consists of Fund Management (General Ledger and Asset Management), Procure to Pay (Accounts Payable, Purchasing and eProcurement) and Research Administration (Accounts Receivables, Billing, Project Costing, Grants, Contract) modules. Cloud ERP Supply Chain encompasses Health Inventory & other supply chain modules.

Responsibilities
  • 5% Administer connectivity services, including OCI Fast Connect, Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), security lists, route tables, load balancers, and DNS configurations to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • 10% Manage and maintain Oracle Identity and Access Management (IAM), including users, groups, dynamic groups, policies, federated authentication, and role-based access controls.
  • 10% Administer certificates and encryption keys, including certificate lifecycle management, renewal, rotation, and integration with OCI Certificates and Oracle Cloud services.
  • 10% Provide operational support for Oracle Cloud applications, including multiple Oracle Fusion ERP environments, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) environments, Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP), and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) services.
  • 5% Monitor and optimize the health, availability, and performance of OCI services using OCI Observability, Logging, Monitoring, Alarms, and related operational tools.
  • 5% Administer Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and API Gateway services, supporting secure integrations, API management, connectivity, and troubleshooting across enterprise applications.
  • 10% Coordinate environment provisioning, patching, cloning, refreshes, upgrades, backup validation, and disaster recovery activities in collaboration with Oracle and application teams.
  • 5% Implement and maintain cloud security, governance, and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and Oracle Cloud best practices.
  • 10% Collaborate with infrastructure, security, database, application, and business teams to support cloud architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement across the Oracle Cloud ecosystem.
  • 10% Administer Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) databases, including provisioning, cloning, scaling, user administration, performance monitoring, backup validation, and lifecycle management.
  • 5% Implement and maintain enterprise security standards for cloud integrations and APIs, including OAuth 2.0, SSL/TLS, and mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication for secure communication between Oracle Cloud services and external systems.
  • 5% Maintain cloud architecture documentation, operational procedures, security standards, and disaster recovery documentation to support governance and compliance requirements.
  • 5% Perform capacity planning, resource optimization, and cloud cost management to ensure efficient utilization of OCI resources.
  • 5% Support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure patching and maintenance activities, including planning, validation, and post-maintenance verification.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
