Position Summary
Applies advanced concepts and expertise to lead, coordinate, and support AV IT services across conferencing, digital signage, and workspace booking. Designs, deploys, services, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and configures AV technologies and services. Communicates with high‑level clients on significant events.
Key Responsibilities- 35% Assist with the development, documentation, training, and implementation of AV service policy, processes, and workflows. Maintain accurate asset records and produce instructional resources. Coordinate with leadership and the UCOP community to align resources with needs.
- 35% Provide operational support and technical expertise for AV systems and services. Serve as principal resource for AV setup, management, and remediation of equipment failures. Perform assessment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and configuration of shared AV devices. Lead installation or modification of new or existing AV systems and enforce security configurations. Manage administrator duties for Zoom, EMS, and Korbyt platforms.
- 15% Establish and maintain effective business relationships with external vendors and the UCOP user community. Direct vendor work, assess performance, and manage purchase, payment, and spending for AV systems and services.
- 15% Conduct highly complex assessments of business requirements for AV technology and recommend appropriate solutions. Evaluate technical, financial, and operational aspects of current or emerging AV solutions. Provide input to strategic planning, develop architecture, and lead implementation of new or updated AV solutions.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience providing audio/visual technical support.
- Advanced customer service and consultative skills to identify and implement required technology solutions.
- Advanced understanding of AV systems and services and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Ability to assess institutional needs for AV technology products and design services to meet those needs.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non‑technical personnel at various organizational levels.
- High knowledge of audio, video, computer, media, and networking technology.
- Self‑motivated and works independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills with the ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
- Advanced skills to develop technical solutions for complex user requirements.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Industry certifications: CCNA, Crestron, CT5‑I, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Step – STEPS
Pay Scale – $110,000 – $130,000
