THEOPPORTUNITY
The Property & Casualty Claims Advocate facilitates a smooth interaction between the client and the carrier regarding property & casualty issues, including claim reviews and ongoing claim issues. The role monitors ongoing property & casualty activity and alerts the HUB Producer team to any potential claim or loss control issues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepares and presents claim reviews to clients on a periodic basis.
- Assists in Third Party Administrator (TPA) and insurance carrier selections.
- Ensures client questions and concerns are addressed by the claims department or TPA.
- Interacts with clients by telephone and in person, on a periodic basis, to deliver and gather information.
- Negotiates plans of action and reserve reductions with insurers.
- Assists producers in conducting claims with clients and carriers.
- Analyzes loss history to identify risk reduction strategies for producers.
- Implements correction of carrier errors.
- Keeps abreast of and applies a working knowledge of policy coverage in its application to property & casualty claims.
- Maintains accurate and organized claim files by documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives, and updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Seeks continued knowledge, stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact clients, makes appropriate recommendations, and attends industry‑related continuing education training and courses.
- Responsible for accessing and utilizing all claims‑related carrier online systems.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED
- 2-3 years of property & casualty claims adjustment experience (brokerage preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Property & Casualty License required, or willingness to obtain one within 3 months.
- Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and agency management systems.

- Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and work effectively with insurance and service vendors to meet client needs.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
- This position primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.
- The person frequently communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone, and must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
