Salary Range: $62,000 – $73,000 per year

Role Summary

The Property & Casualty Underwriting Associate supports the underwriting process by maintaining accurate policy data, assisting with risk assessments, preparing documentation, and helping calculate premiums.

This role ensures compliance with underwriting guidelines while providing strong client communication and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and maintain policy information to ensure accuracy for renewals.
  • Communicate with clients to gather required information and resolve inquiries.
  • Prepare and organize documentation for underwriting submissions and policy issuance.
  • Assess risks for insurance applications using underwriting criteria.
  • Support premium calculations and ensure correct application of rates.
  • Create and maintain reports on underwriting activities and performance metrics.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and underwriting standards.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to coordinate tasks and share information.
  • Serve as a primary contact for customers and agents, providing excellent service.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 months of Property & Casualty underwriting experience (or equivalent).
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required:

    State P&C and/or surplus lines license eligibility.
  • Preferred: CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter).
