Overview
EMPIRE is looking for a Vice President, Content Operations to join our team. In this role, you will manage content ops, including delivery of our releases to DSPs, creating and enforcing quality assurance standards, and acting as a liaison with our vast network of distribution and label partners and our customers in support of a new business unit. This starts as a hands-on role, evolving into team management as we build out and expand the organization.
This is a ground-floor opportunity for the right individual to create a team, develop processes, and work closely with the new business unit’s product team to build systems that support this team’s needs.
- Manage all content operations for a new business unit, including the creation of Content QA processes and customer/DSP content relations.
- Maintain and distribute audio/video products for customers, deliver to DSPs, update metadata, and ensure quality assurance.
- Scale distribution services and design systems in collaboration with product, engineering, legal, and royalties teams.
- Maintain relationships with the content teams of DSPs and our content providers.
- Manage asset approvals between content providers and internal parties.
- Build and manage the content team, including creating hiring plans and overseeing team member management.
Key Notes for Success
Experience & Industry Knowledge- 7-10 years in large-scale digital supply chain distribution management.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven track record of delivering audio/video content successfully within the music industry.
- Experience coordinating with a global, international team and managing across different time zones.
- Expert knowledge of major DSPs and their behavior.
- Familiarity with music royalties, rights management, content , and You Tube CMS.
- Previous experience working with various genres of music.
- XML and metadata formatting for music services.
- Expertise in Audio and Video codecs and editing.
- Excel experience.
- Experience with Zendesk or similar customer support software.
- A detailed understanding of metadata requirements and related issues across all product types, media, and genres.
- Quick and accurate resolution of data issues is critical to the success of this role.
- Highly skilled in cross-team functionality and communication, with the ability to take initiative over personal workload.
- Strong interpretative skills to translate customers requests into tasks that solve underlying issues.
- Ability to quickly understand new information systems and processes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi-task, and remain flexible to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, problem-solver mentality with a strong passion for music.
- Exceptional communication skills for dealing with varying personalities and levels.
- Highly organized, meticulous about follow-up, deadline-oriented, resourceful, and innovative.
