Position: Litigation Secretary/Paralegal, Temp-to-Hire

Overview

Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a well‑established litigation firm to identify a Legal Secretary/Paralegal to support attorneys in their San Francisco office. This full‑time role provides essential administrative and legal support across active litigation matters. It is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with strong California litigation experience who can manage competing priorities, maintain excellent organization, and support attorneys in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, discovery, contracts, correspondence, and memos.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with California courts, including proficiency with e‑filing requirements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or reports as needed.
  • Manage and organize case files in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Track deadlines, court dates, and billing hours for assigned attorneys.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Assist with trial preparation including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and providing phone support.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal, with California litigation experience preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with California Rules of Court and local court procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio or Pro Law.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and strong sense of confidentiality.
