Description
Baker McKenzie's International Commercial group is seeking a Regulatory mid-level associate with two to three years of experience to join our San Francisco or Palo Alto office and become part of one of the world's most expansive global legal networks. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience advising clients on AI regulatory risk assessments, cross‑border data protection and privacy governance (including GDPR, CCPA, and other emerging international frameworks), commercial negotiation, and sector‑specific regulatory reviews across industries such as digital advertising, e‑commerce, and gaming.
Excellent drafting, research, analytical and communication skills, an aptitude to develop strong relationships with sophisticated global clients, and the ability to take initiative and work as part of a team are essential. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker and problem solver with a passion for understanding the intersection of emerging technologies with the practice of law and business.
Prior experience advising on regulatory or commercial risk in transactional (M&A, commercial contracting) or litigation and enforcement contexts is a strong plus. - This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked.
- The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $235,000 to $260,000 (annually). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
