A San Francisco-based organization is seeking an experienced Paralegal with management experience to oversee daily workflow within the legal department while providing direct support on third‑party insurance claims and subrogation matters. This role is fully onsite and ideal for a paralegal with strong leadership capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and a background in insurance‑related work.
Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily operations of the paralegal/support staff team, including workload allocation, performance oversight, and process improvement.
- Serve as primary paralegal handling third‑party liability claims, property damage claims, and subrogation recovery efforts.
- Conduct thorough investigation of claims, gather documentation, and liaise with internal departments, adjusters, and external parties.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents including demand letters, settlement agreements, correspondence, discovery responses, and case summaries.
- Maintain and update case management systems; track deadlines, statutes, and case milestones.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, outside counsel, and vendors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal protocols, regulatory requirements, and claim‑handling procedures.
- Provide training, guidance, and onboarding support for junior team members.
- Support attorneys and leadership with special projects and reporting.
- 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably with exposure to insurance claims, subrogation, or litigation.
- Prior management or team‑lead experience required.
- Strong understanding of claims processes, liability assessment, and subrogation recovery workflows.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage high‑volume case files.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with case management software and standard office applications.
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
