The Ouster Buyer will assist in all areas of purchasing. The Buyer will ensure that all requisitions and purchase orders are placed in accordance with the Ouster Procurement Policy and Ouster’s defined ISO and SOX procedures. For this role to be successful, it is required that this individual is onsite in Ouster’s San Francisco office to perform the duties associated with the role and work closely with the Accounting department on all purchasing‑related reconciliation.

Additionally, the Buyer will report to the Purchasing Manager to ensure that all requirements are met and successfully executed in a timely manner.

This role will be a onsite role in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for purchasing services, materials, equipment and supplies from vendors
  • Initiates purchase orders and amendments and maintains close coordination with manufacturing and engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities
  • Assure delivery of purchases in a timely manner through follow‑up on all purchase orders, expediting delivery when necessary, and investigating any delays or problems related to a purchase order
  • Communicate and maintain PO schedules and schedule changes with suppliers (and enter changes and updates to the promised due dates of material in Net Suite based on supplier feedback)
  • Assist production on material flow issues (i.e. ECN changes, shortages, material transfers, shipment upgrades to meet production schedules) as required
  • Assist Engineering with submission of requisitions on an as‑needed basis
  • Assist Finance on resolving invoice discrepancies related to PO receipts
  • Create Inter‑Company Drop‑Ship POs
  • Communicate upcoming supplier COD, CIA and Prepay shipments to Finance for action
  • Develop and maintain good vendor relations
  • Resolve problems, reconcile vendor returns and expedite order deliveries
  • Collaborate with internal departments when vendor issues arise
  • Complete assigned reports and special projects
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotations
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Strive to achieve corporate and departmental objectives
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent, preferred
  • 1 year working in a procurement capacity, or manufacturing work environment preferred
  • Experience in Net Suite or other ERP systems
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office with strong Microsoft Excel skills

The base pay will be dependent on your skills, work experience, location, and qualifications. This role may also be eligible for equity & benefits. ($75,000 - $95,000)
