Purpose Statement
The Materials Logistics/Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all supply chain and materials management metrics for the CSC’s in the assigned region, driving continuous improvement, end‑to‑end inventory oversight—from forecasting through delivery—ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and regulatory compliance. You will also manage production planning, annual spend for perishable food and materials, SKUs, food cost variance, purchasing, SOP development, customer relations, and a team of 10 employees.
Ideal candidates bring strong hands‑on food knowledge, a solid understanding of HACCP and regulatory standards, proven leadership capabilities, and expertise in purchasing, materials management, and production planning.
Main Accountabilities- Oversee all aspects of supply chain, inventory and materials management metrics to ensure operational efficiency, financial and customer requirements are met.
- Handle all company and customer‑owned merchandise received until it is issued to production.
- Control food cost variances and continually compare actual to billed costs.
- Determine par levels and order quantities based on airline specifications, menus and vendor lead time.
- Manage personnel to maintain proper inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and requisition processes.
- Track product usage and yields in relation to ordering requirements.
- Facilitate procedural document work groups, authoring, reviewing, editing and quality control of documents, identification and assignment of training.
- Ensure SOP formatting is in compliance with global guides and templates and that there is consistency in application of technical abbreviation and acronyms, figure callouts and captions.
- Maintain and support regulatory compliance standards and corporate initiatives such as USDA, FDA, OSHA, GQS, HACCP and Lean Manufacturing.
- Collaborate with programs such as the Academy of Excellence teams in various CSCs, ensuring tools and documentation is available for operational use.
- Evaluate the supply‑chain training curriculum/modules and identify opportunities for continuous training development and creative teaching techniques.
- Analyze supply‑chain data such as spend tracking, food cost, days on hand, APW or compliances and root‑cause issues and resolve including suggestive improvements.
- Plan implementation of processes for materials planning and forecasting mid‑to‑long term with the SCO project team and report out new model and measures.
- Assess demand‑planning methods in CSCs and consumption trends of materials and develop relevant data measures.
- Integrate updated analytical tools/data into financial controlling and performance reporting between CSCs and corporate.
- Support analysis of supply‑chain operational metrics and participate in redefining any updates or any adherence measures required.
- Participate and support company‑sponsored initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, and Employee Safety.
