As a member of the Menzies Aviation Fuel Farm Operating Team, you will be responsible for sampling and testing products for quality control, and performing inspections and basic maintenance on facilities, fuel systems, and fueling vehicles. Other responsibilities include receiving and dispatching jet fuel, gasoline, diesel fuel, av gas, and glycol via pipelines and fuel trucks.
Role Purpose
The Fuel Farm Operator is responsible for sampling and testing products for quality control, performing inspections and basic maintenance on facilities, fuel systems, and fueling vehicles. Other duties include receiving and dispatching jet fuel via pipelines and fuel trucks. The operator ensures that products meet or exceed quality standards, completes work in a timely manner, and projects a professional image for Menzies Aviation at SFO.
Pay: $36.16/Hr.

What you will be doing:
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities and systems.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly petroleum product log entries of fuel transactions, quality control, and maintenance.
- Preventative maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities and related equipment on fueling vehicles.
- Routine and periodic inspections in compliance with company, customer, government, and industry standards.
- Compliance with A4A specifications on fuel quality.
- Transfer products and monitor storage tanks, pipelines, and related equipment to prevent spills, releases, overfills, and contamination.
- Identify and remedy abnormal fuel system alarm conditions and coordinate with upstream shippers and airside hydrant system operations.
- Calculate and manage time for storage tanks before reaching full capacity to avoid accidental valve shutdown.
- Manage tank storage and dispense fuel in coordination with flow rates.
- Understand and comply with environmental regulations, including stormwater handling and discharge procedures.
- Operate oil‑water separators, handle off‑spec fuel, and load into tanker trucks.
- Keep the fuel farm presentable at all times.
- Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Conduct all work safely by adhering to all company, customer, industry, local, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.
- Properly manage hazardous materials and waste, including jet fuel and contaminated debris, and respond to emergencies.
- Change filters and manage contaminated filters appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Must pass all pre‑employment testing, including a physical, color vision test, audio test, and drug test.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Handle fueling carts and hoses that require lifting and moving up to 70 lbs.
- Basic math calculation skills.
- Must pass a background check and obtain U.S. Customs seal as required.
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must obtain and maintain all required airport and Customs badges/seals.
- Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
