SB Energy is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director, Mechanical Equipment Supply Chain to lead the global sourcing, supplier relationship management, and supply continuity strategies for critical thermal infrastructure supporting next-generation AI factory and advanced data center developments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead global sourcing and supplier management strategies for thermal infrastructure equipment supporting hyperscale AI factory and advanced data center projects
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships across critical thermal equipment categories including:
Director, Thermal Infrastructure Supply Chain Heat exchangers Dry Coolers Pumping and hydronic systems Modular and prefabricated thermal infrastructure - Identify, qualify, and onboard new supplier partners to support long-term infrastructure growth, capacity expansion, and supply chain diversification objectives
- Collaborate closely with the Director, AI Infrastructure Supply Chain Innovation to align sourcing execution with long-range infrastructure technology roadmaps
- Support integrated business planning (IBP) processes by translating project pipeline forecasts into supplier capacity and sourcing strategies
- Partner with internal stakeholders including:
- Director, Thermal Infrastructure Supply Chain Drive supplier performance management initiatives focused on quality, delivery reliability, manufacturing readiness, technical capability, and scalability
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing frameworks, strategic partnerships, and long-term supply arrangements with global equipment manufacturers and suppliers
- Monitor global market dynamics, manufacturing lead times, raw material trends, and geopolitical risks impacting thermal equipment availability and cost
- Support equipment standardization initiatives and procurement specifications in partnership with engineering and construction stakeholders
- Develop mitigation strategies for supply chain constraints, capacity shortages, and schedule risks across large-scale infrastructure programs
- Conduct supplier factory assessments and participate in technical and commercial evaluations for major infrastructure procurements
- Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations related to supply chain health, supplier risks, capacity planning, and sourcing strategy execution
- At least 15 years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field required
- 10+ years of experience in global business development, thermal equipment product development, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, procurement, or supplier management within mission-critical infrastructure, data centers, HVAC, thermal systems, industrial equipment, or related industries
- Demonstrated experience managing global supplier relationships and strategic sourcing initiatives for complex engineered equipment
- Strong understanding of thermal infrastructure systems supporting data centers, industrial facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience with liquid cooling technologies and advanced thermal management systems for AI infrastructure environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships across engineering, construction, supply chain, and external consultant organizations
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience supporting integrated business planning, long-range forecasting, and supplier capacity planning processes
- Ability to analyze supply-demand dynamics, manufacturing constraints, and infrastructure deployment risks in rapidly scaling environments
- Strong executive communication, analytical, and relationship management capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to supplier facilities, project sites, and industry events.
- Remote locations considered on a case by case basis.
- Base pay: $190,000-$230,000
