Overview

Shift: AM 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $37.13

This includes the Frank Residences, offering luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over age 55;

Responsibilities

The Painter/Facilities Engineer is responsible for performing skilled painting tasks to maintain and repair facility buildings, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures surfaces are prepared and painted according to specifications, maintaining high safety, appearance, and compliance standards. The Painter may assist other trades and participate in facility inspections and remodeling projects.

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers. Paints interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and infrastructure using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Conducts scheduled painting maintenance to preserve building condition and aesthetics. Maintains a record of painted areas and touch-up requirements.
  • Works with facilities staff and contractors to review painting work on construction and remodeling projects. Ensuring work complies with safety standards and facility specifications.
  • Follow safety procedures when using paints, solvents, and tools. Maintain painting equipment, tools, and supplies in good working condition.
  • Collaborates with other trades on facility repairs and renovations. Assists in the upkeep of infrastructure related to walls, ceilings, and finishes.
  • Orders and stocks paint and related materials. Selects appropriate products for each task and ensures proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Completes daily work logs and reports issues or needs to the Facilities Services manager. Helps ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in painting, preferably in a commercial or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of types of paint materials, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with safety codes and hazardous materials handling.
  • Good communication and time-management skills.
