Director of Construction

Overview

The selected Director of Construction will be a key addition to the Nor Cal team overseeing project sites from Sonoma County to San Luis Obispo with active townhome construction activities. Responsibilities

• Collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract specs.

• Monitoring work progress and compliance from all selected subcontractors.

• Proactively identifying and escalating issues that could impact the established project budget and timeline.

• Holding meetings with Engineers, Architects, and other key personnel to provide progress reports.

• Delegating tasks effectively and holding others accountable to achieve project milestones.

• Helping to mentor and develop confidence in field and office personnel.

• Proactively identify training gaps with personnel, ensuring that they gain access to proper resources and supplemental training to maximize career growth potential.

• Assisting in the development of a strategic growth plan for the division.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction (2+ years as a Project Director or PX)

• Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited institution

• Prior experience representing the Developer/Builder on homebuilding projects of similar size and scope

• Prior experience with P&L responsibilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Effective people management skills including the ability to delegate

• Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure that project milestones are achieved

• Willingness to travel to Nor Cal project sites as required

• Base Salary $k (based on experience and certifications)
