The Site Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety and has a comprehensive knowledge for the day-to-day safety field operations for their assigned project(s) including planning, coordinating, and enforcing safety regulations and codes while serving as the company’s point of contact for owners, subcontractors, regulatory agencies and Webcor team for all safety related matters.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conducts Quarterly Safety Meetings and monthly Operations safety meetings.
  • Participates in developing and administering safety incentives.
  • Confers with attorneys regarding liability cases.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.
  • Directs and participates in safety audits of operations to reduce occupation safety risk factors and ensure compliance with Webcor safety directives and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Implements and manages Webcor’s Injury/Illness Prevention Program and directs and coordinates the participation of employees within that program.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections of Webcor projects including the inspection of facilities, worksites, equipment, work practices, and safety devices to ensure compliance with required workplace safety standards, regulations, and Webcor policy.
  • Reports safety findings to management and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions; monitors changes and/or makes follow-up inspections.
  • Trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of Site Safety Managers and other assigned staff.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Serves as safety resource to division and assists in complying with Webcor safety standards; provides consultation, guidance and technical assistance on matters related to workplace safety.
  • Coordinates and/or delivers on-site training to project staff on safety practices and policies and related topics.
  • Monitors substance abuse programs at all jobsites.
  • Ensures project safety goals and expectations are realistic, achievable, and revisited/revised at appropriate times during the life of the project.
  • Serves as company interface between Owner-Subcontractors-Regulatory Agencies-Webcor Team and is responsible for developing safety leadership, motivation, education and communication with each entity.
  • Effectively manages problem prevention strategies to limit reactionary practices.
  • Clearly defines goals, understands audiences, manages productive meetings, and manages and builds team morale.
  • Manage and coordinate substance abuse testing and set up medical clinics for new jobsites.
  • Facilitate Webcor's “return to work program” with employees, medical professionals, and project personnel.
  • Serve as liaison for worker’s compensation reporting, case management, and recordkeeping and participate in Webcor claims management process.
  • Facilitate mass safety meetings and required weekly tailgate safety meetings.
  • Compile materials for safety meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes.
Technical Skills And Knowledge Required
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to use MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint).
  • Extensive working knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA standards or other applicable codes.
  • Demonstrated construction safety experience with solid industrial hygiene field skill set.
  • Advanced Safety/Industrial Hygiene Certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH, OHST, and CHST) preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies, safety and health professionals and legal representatives.
Required Behavioral Competencies
  • Ability to address an audience of various sizes and effectively communicate his/her message and ideas.
  • Ability to write clear and detailed concise thoughts in a professional manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to both tradesmen and management.
Required Education And Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (i.e., engineering, safety, health sciences, risk management) or equivalent work experience.
