Aboutthe Role
The Associate Recruiting Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Associate Recruiting team. This role will be responsible for overseeing Associate Recruiting for the local office, while using their experience and understanding of the legal and competitive market landscape to strategically plan and implement department goals and objectives. This role will be based in either our San Francisco or Silicon Valley office, but will support both offices and require frequent travel between them.
Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence, requiring in-office presence the majority of the time.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the associate recruiting function for the local office, supporting the Recruiting Committee in hiring summer associates as well as new associates and judicial clerks when applicable, while managing all aspects of the Summer Program, including orientation, events, programming, training, and performance management, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience
- Staying abreast of current and pending employment laws, market trends, and competitor recruiting policies, while supporting strategic initiatives of the firm’s management committees by developing and maintaining relationships with office leadership and recommending changes to enhance the firm's competitive edge
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with firm leaders and industry leaders, including regional law schools, while focusing on enhancing the firm's brand and influence by coordinating outreach efforts and engaging with key stakeholders, and providing research, analyzing data, and generating reports to support the firm's strategic goals and maintain a robust professional network
- Overseeing a team that supports the manager and the firm in all endeavors, while organizing, assigning, delegating, and coordinating staff work to manage workflow and resources effectively, especially during peak periods, while fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
- Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for others
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including organizing, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and effective interaction with all organizational levels
- Exhibit proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office, database management, and applicant tracking systems, with the ability to conduct thorough analyses and reports
- Display the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion
And have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in legal recruitment or professional services
- A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience
- A minimum two (2) years’ supervisory experience in a related field, preferably
