Under the direction of the Airfield Program Manager, the 5504 Project Manager II will assist in overseeing and managing all phases of the projects, from programming and design through construction and closeout. The position is responsible for maintaining schedule and budget control, communicating Airport requirements to project teams, coordinating Airport stakeholder involvement, and reporting project status and issues to Airport Management.
The essential functions and duties of the position include:
- Plan, organize, and deliver complex airport engineering projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, funding, and change control to meet Airport and FAA requirements.
- Define and document project purpose, objectives, and technical requirements in coordination with SFO Operations and Maintenance.
- Assess existing airfield pavement, lighting, and infrastructure conditions and evaluate feasible improvement alternatives.
- Provide technical oversight and leadership to consultants, designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary internal teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
- Coordinate environmental review, permitting, and regulatory approvals as required for project delivery.
- Identify construction impacts and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational and airfield disruptions.
- Oversee development of construction documents, procurement, bidding, and contract award activities.
- Monitor project performance and report status, risks, issues, and progress to Airport Management.
Rehabilitation of pavement, lighting, and drainage at the intersection of Taxiways A, B, E, and F to improve safety, efficiency, and FAA compliance.
Runway 1R-19L Rehabilitation & Taxiway W Project
Rehabilitation of Runway 1R–19L and associated taxiways, including pavement repairs, lighting and signage upgrades, construction of Taxiway W, removal of Taxiway F1, and EMAS safety area repairs to enhance safety and operations.
Taxiways A and B Rehabilitation, Phase 2 Project
