About this Role

Arena Group is seeking a seasoned Regional Head of ESG & Sustainability to spearhead sustainable practices across our operations in the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. This pivotal role entails integrating environmental, social, and governance principles across our operations, embedding sustainability into every facet of our event infrastructure processes. Reporting to the CEO (EMEA), the role calls for a strategic leader capable of driving nuanced operational changes, supporting growth and innovation within Arena Group.

In collaboration with regional leadership teams and project directors, you will ensure that ESG principles are at the core of our performance metrics, fostering a culture of accountability and impact. Your efforts will be crucial in shaping and influencing design, operations, and logistics to enhance circularity and resource efficiency within the sector.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of Arena Group’s ESG and sustainability strategy across multiple regions.
  • Embed ESG principles into business planning, operational decision‑making, and governance.
  • Act as a senior advisor to executive leadership on ESG risks, opportunities, and priorities.
  • Drive decarbonisation, circularity, and resource efficiency across event infrastructure and logistics.
  • Influence design standards, material selection, asset investment, and delivery models.
  • Champion innovative approaches to reuse, modularity, and waste reduction.
  • Support bids, tenders, and client relationships with compelling ESG propositions.
  • Build strong business cases demonstrating the commercial value of sustainability.
  • Represent Arena Group with key clients, partners, regulators, and industry bodies.
  • Oversee ESG performance measurement, reporting, and assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 20121, ISO 14001, and regional regulatory requirements.
  • Embed ESG expectations into supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Lead and develop a regional sustainability team across multiple geographies.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture focused on impact and delivery.
Requirements
  • Degree‑qualified in environmental, sustainability, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in sustainability / ESG leadership roles.
  • Experience in events, construction, infrastructure, or adjacent sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG standards, regulations, and best practice.
  • Proven experience driving change across multiple regions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder influence.
  • A practical, solutions‑focused approach to sustainability.
  • Confidence working with senior leaders, clients, and external partners.
