The Head of National Community Relations is a senior enterprise leader responsible for setting and executing Wells Fargo's local community impact strategy across all U.S. markets. This role serves as the primary architect and steward of market‑level philanthropy, community partnerships, and social risk engagement, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities, brand reputation, and business objectives. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy and Community Impact and President of the Wells Fargo Foundation, this leader manages a geographically dispersed team and a significant philanthropic investment portfolio.
This role requires strong line‑of‑business understanding and financial services business acumen to effectively operate across a diversified financial institution. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand how Consumer Banking and Lending, Wealth and Investment Management, Commercial Banking, and Corporate & Investment Banking function individually and collectively- including how each line of business generates revenue, manages risk, serves customers, and contributes to enterprise strategy.
In this role, you will:
* Set and deliver an enterprise‑aligned local philanthropy strategy that advances national investment priorities, strengthens community outcomes, and reinforces business, Public Affairs, and risk governance objectives across all U.S. markets.
* Maximize the impact, credibility, and scalability of philanthropic investments through disciplined allocation of financial and human capital, clear accountability for commitments, and modernized operating models that drive efficiency and results.
* Shape enterprise brand, trust, and social license to operate by building and sustaining strategic partnerships with business leaders, Public Affairs, and external stakeholders to mitigate risk and advance shared outcomes.
* Collaborate with Communications to translate community impact into compelling enterprise narratives that influence senior leaders, Boards, regulators, and external stakeholders-connecting philanthropic outcomes to business value, brand strength, and risk mitigation through clear, executive‑ready storytelling.
* Lead and transform a national community relations organization, developing senior talent and guiding a large, geographically dispersed team of approximately 45 through change while embedding a strong risk mindset, performance accountability, and operational excellence.

* Build and leverage enterprise‑wide influence by cultivating strong partnerships with business leaders, Public Affairs, and external NGOs/foundations to drive outcomes without direct authority.
* Demonstrate executive presence and sound judgment, credibly challenging peers and partners when needed, holding grantees accountable for results, and providing trusted counsel to senior leaders.
* Apply rigorous analytical and strategic thinking to evaluate philanthropic investments, synthesize complex issues, and deliver clear, decision‑ready recommendations that inform enterprise priorities.
* Advance innovative, collaborative solutions for social change, integrating community insight, data, and business context to enhance brand strength and mitigate community‑related risk.
* Communicate with clarity and impact across audiences, translating program intent and outcomes into compelling narratives for executives and stakeholders, while maintaining fluency in the company's business objectives and operating environment; ability to travel up to 40% as required.
Required Qualifications:
* 8+ years of Community Impact or Sustainability experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
* 4+ years of Management experience
