About this Role

The Head of National Community Relations is a senior enterprise leader responsible for designing and implementing Wells Fargo’s community impact strategy across the United States. This pivotal role involves serving as the primary steward of market-level philanthropy, community partnerships, and social risk engagement, ensuring these efforts align with the enterprise’s broader priorities and enhance its brand reputation. This leader oversees a significant philanthropic investment portfolio and manages a geographically dispersed team.

Success in this role requires a deep understanding of various financial services lines of business, including Consumer Banking, Wealth and Investment Management, and Corporate and Investment Banking, and how each contributes to the company’s strategy. The position involves setting an enterprise‑aligned local philanthropy strategy, maximizing the impact of philanthropic investments, shaping the enterprise brand through strategic partnerships, and collaborating with Communications to translate community impact into compelling narratives for multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Set and deliver an enterprise‑aligned local philanthropy strategy.
  • Maximize the impact, credibility, and scalability of philanthropic investments through disciplined allocation of financial and human capital.
  • Shape enterprise brand, trust, and social license to operate by building strategic partnerships with business leaders.
  • Collaborate with Communications to influence senior leaders, Boards, regulators, by connecting philanthropic outcomes to business value.
  • Lead and transform the national community relations organization, guiding a large, geographically dispersed team.
  • Build and leverage enterprise-wide influence through strong partnerships.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of Community Impact or Sustainability experience.
  • 4+ years of Management experience.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex philanthropic grant portfolios.
  • Expertise in leveraging qualitative and quantitative data for grantmaking decisions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies in complex environments.
  • Experience as a visible external leader and organizational spokesperson.
  • A track record of successfully leading teams through growth and transformation.
