Public Works currently has a vacancy for the position of Project Manager I (5502) within the Bureau of Project Management
- Project Delivery Division.
Healthcare Projects:
As a Project Manager I, under administrative direction, you will oversee multiple renovation projects across the Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) and/or Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH) campuses. In this role, you will manage major renovation projects within existing buildings, including the design and construction process for tenant improvements. Project scopes may involve demolition based on updated programmatic needs, as well as the replacement of key building systems such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems.
In addition, you will lead focused renovation projects involving medical equipment and life safety system replacements. A central responsibility of this role is to ensure that all renovated facilities enhance clinical functionality, improve efficiency, and elevate the overall patient‑care services and experience.
Important and Essential Duties:
Your duties as a Project Manager I may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Planning, organizing, and directing all phasesof the project including but not limited to:
- Assemblingdesign teams.
- Executing solicitations for professional services and construction contracts.
- Selecting project delivery methods.
- Managing the design phase, including design coordination meetings and facilitation of issue resolution in support of the project objectives.
- Facilitating the regulatory approval process.
- Responsibility for monitoring the project budget, funding, schedule, design, planning activities, and change orders.
- Coordinating work of a multi-disciplinary technical staff across organizational boundaries.
- Supervising and managing construction management professionals to ensure the product complies with the contract for construction, codes, and City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) Standards.
- Communicating and working extensively with the public, private contractors, special interest groups, governmental funding and regulatory agencies, and CCSF departments.
