The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager II, Fleet & Facilities in the Administrative Resources Division.
This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, management level limited-term contract employee (LTCE) for up to three years.

Limited Term Contract Employee (LTCE) positions are funded by grants or other designated funds which are not part of the Air District's ongoing general fund budget. LTCE positions are subject to individual employment contracts and are limited to the duration of their funding source.

For current permanent represented employees, these LTCE positions offer a unique chance to step into high-impact roles, gain supervisory or program-management experience, and help advance essential agency priorities. Return rights are governed by the 2026 Administrative Code and/or MOU.

About the Administrative Resources Division

The Administrative Resources Division provides essential administrative and operational services that support the Air District's mission of protecting public health and improving air quality. The division includes the Business Office, Facilities Program, and Fleet Program. The Business Office oversees procurement, contracts, insurance and risk management, and mailroom operations. The Facilities and Fleet programs manage the infrastructure, assets, and operational support that enable employees to effectively serve communities throughout the Bay Area.

About

the Position

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Resources, the newly created LTCE Manager II for Fleet and Facilities leads the Air District's facilities and fleet programs, providing oversight of operations, capital projects, asset management, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration. This position balances day-to-day service delivery with long-range planning and strategic initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and stewardship of public resources.

The Facilities Program supports more than 50 Air District-owned and leased facilities, satellite offices, and related assets that enable agency operations throughout the region. The program is responsible for facility planning, capital improvement projects, maintenance and repair activities, regulatory compliance, contract administration, workplace safety and security, emergency preparedness, and continuity of operations planning.

The Fleet Program manages the Air District's fleet of approximately 120 vehicles that support field inspections and other Air District operations. Responsibilities include vehicle acquisition, maintenance, assignment, compliance, rentals, replacement planning, and disposal, while advancing fleet electrification and other sustainability initiatives.

About you

You are a collaborative and results-driven leader with experience managing facilities, fleet, public works, operations, and/or administrative services programs in a public-sector or similarly regulated environment. You have successfully led multidisciplinary teams; managed staff, contractors, consultants, and service providers; and overseen complex budgets, contracts, and capital improvement projects.
