Position Summary
Social Compliance Manager leads the execution of WSI’s factory social responsibility program across key suppliers and factories. This role manages social compliance audits, remediation, supplier training, and capacity-building efforts to support long-term improvements in responsible sourcing and factory performance. The Manager partners with vendors, factories, Brand teams, regional teams, and external stakeholders to ensure WSI expectations are understood, risks are addressed, and program standards are applied consistently.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute WSI’s social responsibility program across assigned factories, vendors, and sourcing regions.
- Manage the third-party audit process, including audit scheduling, report review, corrective action tracking, performance monitoring, and cost management.
- Monitor factory remediation plans and provide guidance to vendors and factories to support timely, sustainable improvements.
- Assess audit findings, supplier performance trends, and key risk areas; elevate high-risk issues or potential crisis situations to management.
- Communicate WSI social responsibility requirements, protocols, and expectations to vendors, factories, Brand teams, and regional partners.
- Develop and deliver training to factories, vendors, and internal teams to increase awareness of WSI standards and remediation expectations.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to associates, cross-functional partners, or external service providers involved in audit review, supplier follow-up, remediation tracking, and program execution.
- Support compliance with applicable local labor laws, human rights expectations, and supply chain due diligence requirements, including forced labor risk mitigation and traceability-related actions.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to influence decisions, secure supplier commitment, and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on local law requirements, social compliance best practices, remediation approaches, and responsible sourcing expectations.
- Support implementation and maintenance of audit databases, tracking tools, reporting processes, and supplier performance documentation.
- Research and recommend industry or regional best practices to strengthen WSI’s social responsibility program.
- Travel internationally as needed to support supplier engagement, training, audits, remediation, and regional alignment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, social sciences, sustainability, supply chain, human rights, international relations, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in social responsibility, social compliance, responsible sourcing, supplier monitoring, or related work.
- 2+ years of management, leadership, project leadership, or indirect team oversight experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of social compliance audit programs, corrective action management, factory remediation, and supplier capacity building.
- Experience with human rights due diligence, forced labor risk management, supply chain traceability, or responsible recruitment preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse cultures, functions, and geographies.
- High integrity, sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated passion for corporate social responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related reporting or database tools.
