Business Unit Manager | Manufacturing | Bay Area, CA

Are you a proven manufacturing leader who thrives on driving operational excellence, growing teams, and owning business performance? We're partnering with an established aerospace and defense manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area seeking a Business Unit Manager to lead a high-performing operation.

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a business unit with responsibility for operations, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing business unit.
  • Own the P&L and drive revenue, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to achieve business objectives.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure exceptional execution on critical programs.
  • Establish KPIs and use data to make strategic business decisions.
  • Support long-term growth initiatives, capacity planning, and operational scaling.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (MBA a plus)
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Experience managing a P&L or business unit
  • Aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred
  • Strong background in:
    • Manufacturing Operations
    • Supply Chain
    • Program Management
    • Customer Relations
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver operational results.
Preferred Experience
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
  • AS9100 or ISO quality systems
  • ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience leading organizations through growth and change
