Director of Youth Services

• Lead the Center’s Youth Services department
• Oversee culturally responsive, trauma-informed supportive services for LGBTQQ youth ages 16–24, focusing on youth who are unhoused, disconnected, or in transition
• Directly supervise Youth Services managers and provide interim supervision when roles are vacant
• Build and sustain a healthy, values-driven team culture
• Lead short- and long-term planning, implementation, evaluation, and budgeting across Youth Services
• Develop, track, and assess annual program plans aligned with grant deliverables, contract requirements, organizational priorities, and community needs
• Coordinate outreach, marketing, and communications with the Communications department
• Support youth-led program design and culturally responsive programming
• Coordinate cross-program alignment, collaboration, reporting, and resource sharing
• Use data and evaluation to assess impact, inform strategy, and support reporting
• Cultivate relationships with funders, partners, networks, and community stakeholders
• Serve as liaison to corporate, government, and foundation funders, including grant writing, deliverables, budgets, and reporting
• Develop and manage program and grant budgets
• Partner with the Director of Program Strategy & Impact on government contracts, deliverables, budgets, performance tracking, reporting, and compliance
• Coordinate Youth Services activities with Development, Communications, Volunteer Program, and other program teams
• Participate in the Center’s leadership team and engage Youth Services staff in organization-wide initiatives
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Deep understanding of the needs, strengths, and experiences of vulnerable LGBTQQ Transitional Aged Youth and communities
• Ability to work effectively with diverse participants, staff, partners, funders, and community stakeholders
• Minimum of 5–6 years of management experience, including staff supervision and team leadership
• Demonstrated experience supervising and supporting intersectional, multiracial teams with diverse lived experiences
• Commitment to the SF LGBT Center’s mission and to racial, social, and economic justice
• Experience with youth development, trauma-informed services, program design, implementation, and evaluation preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Experience managing teams through a racial equity lens and supporting shared leadership and decision-making
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and project management tools
• Ability to work primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work
• Ability to perform regular computer and office equipment use, periods of sitting or stationary work, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds

Demonstrates expertise in leading youth services programs with a focus on culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices for LGBTQQ youth. Proven ability to manage teams, develop program plans, and cultivate community relationships while ensuring compliance with grant deliverables and organizational priorities.
