This is a full-time, on-site position for a Shop Manager and Metal Fabricator based in San Francisco, CA. The role involves managing daily shop operations, fabricating metal components for custom furniture and architectural elements, and ensuring all projects meet One Off’s high-quality standards. - Lead and oversee the shop production team
, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely project completion. - Maintain clear and direct communication between the team, leadership, and clients for project updates and meeting deadlines.
- Act as a partner to the Founder/CEO and Project Manager to manage schedules, team productivity, and material/operational needs.
- Oversee inventory management to secure needed materials, preventing delays and optimizing efficiency.
- Ensure all fabrication work meets One Off Furniture’s high standards of quality and client expectations.
- Monitor receivables and job profitability
, keeping production aligned with financial goals. - Ensure the shop remains organized, safe, and efficient at all times.
- 15+ years of experience in welding and metal work. Ability to perform high-quality TIG welding to create custom furniture components on various metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel. Assemble custom furniture pieces according to design specifications.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings and technical schematics. Collaborate with designers and engineers to troubleshoot and refine designs as needed.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools for fabrication, as well as finishing techniques including grinding. Ability to operate a forklift.
- This is a physically demanding job, requiring physical strength and mobility.
