Systems Engineer
Company Description
Mercator is building AI agents that coordinate global supply chains. Today’s systems leak $1.7T in waste each year in retail alone -- in overproduction, lost revenue, and unnecessary emissions.
Mercator’s founders are seasoned technical operators with a decade of experience leading cutting-edge AI and simulation efforts across Google (Gemini, Tensorflow, Google X).
Role DescriptionAs Mercator’s first Platform/Infrastructure engineer, you’ll architect the backbone that makes everything else possible. From our ingestion engine to our simulation engine to our web application, you’ll design the systems that keep our platform fast, secure, and resilient as we scale. This is a high-leverage role where you’ll turn scrappy prototypes into production-grade infrastructure, and where the tools and workflows you build will directly determine how quickly we can ship.
You’ll own our cloud environments, databases, deployments, and observability stack. You’ll also lead the security and compliance foundation needed for SOC 2 and enterprise readiness. And because our platform integrates with a wide range of external systems, you’ll build the pathways that allow customers to seamlessly move data into and take action through our product.
If you love building internal platforms that engineers actually want to use, turning infrastructure into a product, and creating the rails that unlock engineering velocity, this is the role. The systems you build will define our reliability, our security posture, and the speed at which Mercator can scale.
Benefits- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- As a company we’ll work from a fun destination (think: skiing, surfing) two weeks a year
