Lab Technician –
Location: San Francisco, CA –
Shift/
Hours:
Monday - Sunday, 9:30 am-7:30 pm –
Pay Rate: $21 per hour –
Experience: At least 1 year of work experience

Job Duties
- Eyewear Assembly:
Performing the technical processes of edging, blocking, and assembling lenses and frames to accurately meet prescription specifications. - Quality Control (QC):
Diligently conducting quality control checks on all finished eyewear before they are processed for patient pickup or shipment, ensuring prescription accuracy and aesthetic standards are met. - Lab Maintenance:
Routinely maintaining lab equipment (e.g., edgers, blockers, and tools) and ensuring a clean, safe, and highly organized supplies area to maximize efficiency and longevity of equipment. - Other duties as assigned
- Optical Knowledge:
Certification or knowledge of advanced optical terminology, lens materials, and frame types. - Troubleshooting:
Ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot common issues with edging and blocking equipment. - Mathematical Aptitude:
Strong basic mathematical aptitude for interpreting and verifying complex prescription details.
- Dexterity & Precision:
Exceptional manual precision and steady handwork for handling delicate lenses and performing intricate assembly tasks. - Accuracy & Compliance:
Strong focus on accuracy in all measurements and procedures, alongside a commitment to following established safety protocols. - Technical Awareness:
Basic machine operation and maintenance awareness to ensure the proper use, troubleshooting, and care of sophisticated lab equipment. - Technical Lab
Experience:
Prior experience in an optical lab, eyewear assembly, or precision manufacturing environment where detailed, small‑scale work was required. - Hands‑on Work:
Experience in quality inspection or technical hands‑on work that demonstrates comfort and capability with fine motor skills and specialized tooling. - Must be willing to submit to a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
