Head – Manufacturing and Supply chain

Job Purpose

• The position is a key strategic leadership role in driving the medium and long-term manufacturing of the company. The incumbent would be responsible for the entire gamut of Production Planning, Manufacturing, Supply chain, Industrial & Process Engineering, Materials and Internal Logistics across company operations which covering 2 manufacturing facilities in North India.

• Our client is a leading listed Indian entity engaged in the manufacturing of capital equipment, with revenues of INR 2,000 Crs.

• Drive overall manufacturing performance by establishing a culture of operational discipline, predictability, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Lead optimization of manufacturing operations through robust processes, systems, performance metrics, and benchmarks to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Implement manufacturing best practices and world-class operating standards to improve productivity, asset utilization, throughput, and overall operational efficiency.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement by fostering employee engagement, cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and ownership of operational performance.
• Develop and maintain a safe, cost-effective, sustainable, and environmentally compliant manufacturing infrastructure.
• Lead and drive change management initiatives across people, processes, systems, and technology to enable business transformation and sustainable performance improvement.
• Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and deliverables aligned with the organization’s long-term strategy, and drive accountability for their achievement.
• Develop and execute a digital manufacturing roadmap aligned with business strategy, prioritizing initiatives based on operational impact, scalability, ROI, and technology readiness.
• Lead benchmarking and adoption of emerging manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and digital practices to maintain a competitive and future-ready manufacturing organization.
• Ensure adherence to applicable statutory, regulatory, EHS, environmental, and manufacturing compliance requirements, with effective governance, controls, audits, and corrective-action mechanisms.
• Build & upskill the current team along with hiring lateral hires and effectively managing contractual workforce.
• Lead and drive end-to-end Supply Chain excellence, costing, integrating demand and production planning, MRP, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics and distribution, while closely coordinating with Sales & Marketing to ensure optimal material availability and seamless fulfilment.
• Buy vs. Make decisions, outsourcing;
  Drive vendor development and assessment, including capability building and development of the local ancillary/vendor base.
• Own end-to-end procurement, covering raw materials, capital goods, spares and other purchases.
• Provide directions and conduct regular reviews of the SCM team across the 2 sites

• Age up to 53 years
• Engineer from a reputed institute with post- graduation qualification
• 25+ years of experience in Manufacturing Operations function of a large/ medium sized Engineering organization; of which at least 10+ years as Head of a Manufacturing Unit or in a senior strategic management position in a medium/ large sized Company/ Plant ideally multi locations.
• Demonstrated experience having worked in a Discrete manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of core manufacturing processes, including Machining, Assembly, Fabrication, Sheet Metal and related processes.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing/ World class manufacturing systems with a strong orientation towards process improvement - preferably in mechanical engineering industry.
• Experience of working with organizations with strong focus on exports with capability of having technical discussions with international customers.
