POSITION TITLE: National Development Associate
LOCATION: San Francisco Bay Area preferred; remote applicants considered
STATUS: Part time, 30 hours per week; non‑exempt
COMPENSATION: $54,000 – $60,000 annual salary for full time; prorated for this position for 30 hours a week, or 80% time, at $43,200 – $48,000. This position is eligible for all NIF benefits.
The National Development Associate reports directly to the VP of National Development, providing comprehensive support for the national development program. This position works closely with the Development Operations staff, the Chief Planned Giving Officer, and interfaces with regional and Israeli fundraising staff, donors, and community members.
This role requires someone who is highly organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, strong on follow‑through, and relationship‑building, as well as a good writer, excellent editor, and proofreader.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee VP of National Development’s calendar, schedule calls and meetings, coordinate travel schedule and logistics, process expense reports, and provide administrative support where needed.
- Process, edit and oversee the mailing of all major donor acknowledgments from the Office of the CEO, under the direction of the VP of National Development.
- Provide administrative support for the Chief Planned Giving Officer as needed.
- Process and acknowledge all stock gifts.
- Support the creation and updating of board materials related to development, including onboarding documents for new board members.
- Utilize a CRM to identify and analyze donor trends, track relationships with donors, and run reports for fundraising staff, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, collaborative, resourceful.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and phone manner; ability to interact professionally with staff and our donor community.
- Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new web‑based tools for research, scheduling, event promotion, and more.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets).
- Comfortable managing day‑to‑day tasks as well as long‑term projects.
- Familiarity with databases such as Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
- Interest in Israel/Palestine, human rights, civil rights, current international socio‑political events, and social justice issues preferred.
