Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is committed to enriching the lives of lonely and isolated older adults in San Francisco. Virtually all of our services are carried out by individual volunteers; community, civic, and religious groups; and the business community. LBFE offers flexible and diverse volunteer opportunities, and volunteers can choose to make weekly, monthly, or seasonal time commitments.
Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to relieving isolation and loneliness among older adults. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, we have a variety of flexible and rewarding volunteer opportunities to fit your interests and schedule.
Volunteer opportunities include- In-home visits & holiday visits (staff schedules the date and time frames of these visits)
- Regular visits (twice a month through our Visiting Volunteer Program)
- Friendly phone check-ins and birthday calls
- Driving older adults to medical appointments
- Teaching older adults how to use technology
- And more!
Getting started is easy.
All volunteers are required to complete a one-time virtual orientation and a background check before participating in our programs.
Whether you can commit to a few hours a month or something more regular,
your time can make a lasting difference.
