ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Functions
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate gender-specific workshops, recreation and enrichment activities of the on-site and off-site RAICES program in accordance with contract regulations.
  • Contact schools in order to coordinate groups for each cohort (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Internship)
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports as required by program, including monthly program reports to funding sources (DCYF) and the collection of evaluation and demographic data (surveys).
  • Develop curriculum on gender specific topics such as healthy relationships, self-advocacy, hygiene, bullying, and others related to the DCYF contact.
  • Supervise, evaluate and provide leadership development to Youth Engagement Counselors, Youth Interns, and volunteers involved in the RAICES program.
  • Plan and implement project-based learning and experiential outings and activities to enhance youth learning and skill development.
  • Plan outreach and resource events for the community, youth, schools, etc as part of the contract requirement.
  • Ensure that all contact requirements are being implemented, documented, and met.
  • Support a program environment that is learner centered, promotes a sense of physical and emotional safety.
  • Support positive relationships between staff and youth, and between youth and their peers.
  • Conduct case consultations and check ins with the Youth Engagement counselors.
  • Provide resources to youth, schools, families, community, and Youth Engagement Counselors.
  • Communicate with school, community, public agencies and parents/guardians of youth.
  • Supervise, evaluate and provide leadership development to youth interns and volunteers involved in the program.
  • Ensure all youth completed the intake forms and communicate with youth families to complete.
  • Utilize HUBB software to keep track of all youth’s profiles.
  • Ensure Youth Engagement Counselors are completing incident reports on HUBB when youth disclose anything that would be reportable and is required to document.
  • Provide individual follow-up services and information and referrals to youth as needed and to other MNC youth services and community services.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and handles all logistical details of the weekly check ins and group coordination.
  • Review CMS data and prepare monthly program reports.
  • Develops and oversees outreach plan to recruit target population into case RAICES program.
  • Monitors school advocacy efforts including school meetings such as parent conferences, IEP meetings, school disciplinary meetings, as necessary.
  • Attending meetings with the Program Manager.
  • Support the hiring process, selecting, interviewing, and filling out forms required to hire new employees in the department. Also, assist with the onboarding/offboarding of Youth Engagement Counselors.
Secondary Functions
  • Collaborate in the planning and production of community events including Dia de los Muertos, Holiday/Winter break, Black History month, Carnival SF, Spring break, family nights, program graduations and showcase, etc.
  • Recruit in kind service providers to implement gender specific activities, cultural enrichment, health and wellness, youth leadership, and other enrichment activities within the program.
  • Coordinate Project Glimmer
  • Advocate for youth needs, providing referral information, when appropriate to internal and external services based on individual youth needs. Provide individual follow-up services to clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with community to coordinate services.
  • Represent MNC at appropriate community forums and funder meetings/trainings; maintain superior customer service with funders, staff, collaborating agencies, parents, and youth. Adequately inform, share information, and collaborate with anyone benefiting from the RAICES program.
  • Maintain accurate program records and follows reporting procedures. Compile, analyze, verify, and submit data according to the funding schedule and guidelines.
