Families for an Affordable San Francisco (FFASF):
Canvass Coordinator

This position is employed by Families for an Affordable San Francisco (FFASF), the field and organizing program supporting Scott Wiener's 2026 campaign for Congress (CA-11). The paid canvass runs August through Election Day, targeting up to 150,000 doors across the Base and Persuasion universe.

Senator Scott Wiener is a leading voice for progress in California and a proven champion for our values. Scott has delivered real results on issues like housing, transportation, climate change, LGBTQ+ equality, and criminal justice reform. Now, he's running for Congress to bring his effective, progressive leadership to Washington, D.C. His campaign is building a diverse, passionate, and dedicated team to engage voters across the city and secure victory in 2026.

The Canvass Coordinator is the Canvass Director's right hand and the operational backbone of the paid door program. This role keeps canvassers staffed, shifts stocked, and data clean so the program hits its number every week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate canvasser scheduling, shift confirmations, and daily check-in/check-out.
  • Ensure every canvasser is performing at their highest ability - daily focus on quality control, training, shadowing canvassers, daily coaching, and integration of canvass program into overall campaign culture
  • Prep every shift: turf packets, lit, materials, snacks, water, and supplies.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and paid-training logistics for the canvasser team.
  • Maintain data quality — sync devices, clean and QC canvass data, and keep reporting current.
  • Manage materials, transportation, and day-to-day logistics with the Canvass Director.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for canvassers on scheduling, pay, and field questions.
Goals & Metrics
  • Every shift staffed, confirmed, and fully stocked.
  • Clean, timely canvass data after each shift.
  • Smooth canvasser onboarding and strong retention.
  • Logistics handled so the Director can focus on hitting the door number.
Qualifications
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable — the person who never lets a shift go unprepped.
  • Prior field or canvass experience a plus.
  • Comfortable with VAN/Mini Van (PDI experience ok as a stand-in), Mobilize, and Google Workspace, or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Clear communicator who keeps a team of canvassers informed and on time.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to progressive values and the Democratic Party.
