The Civic Joy Fund brings joy to the streets. We organize and invest in projects that bring art, music, and community to neighborhoods throughout San Francisco. Through initiatives like Downtown First Thursdays, neighborhood night markets, weekly clean-ups, and public art installations, we partner with artists, small businesses, volunteers, and community leaders to make San Francisco's public spaces more vibrant, resilient, and joyful.

Civic Joy Fund is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Development Associate to support fundraising operations on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys donor relations and behind-the-scenes fundraising work, thrives on process and follow-through, and wants hands‑on experience with nonprofit development. The role reports to the Executive Director.

• Maintain accurate donor and gift records in the CRM/donor database, including gift entry, acknowledgment letters, and pledge tracking
• Prepare donor correspondence, thank‑you letters, and stewardship communications on a timely basis
• Support grant administration: tracking deadlines, compiling reporting materials, and assisting with proposal drafting and submission logistics
• Assist with fundraising events (First Thursdays partner activations, donor gatherings, night markets) including logistics, guest lists, and on‑site support
• Generate donor reports, giving summaries, and dashboards for leadership and board meetings
• Research prospective donors, corporate partners, and foundation funders
• Support the development calendar, ensuring appeals, renewals, and reporting deadlines stay on track

• 1–3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related nonprofit role (internship experience considered)
• Strong written communication skills and close attention to detail
• Comfort with donor databases/CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang, Donor Perfect) and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
• A collaborative, service-oriented approach and genuine enthusiasm for Civic Joy Fund's mission
• Availability for occasional evening or weekend hours to support events

Hourly rate: $30 – $35/hour, commensurate with experience, for approximately 15-20 hours per week. Schedule is flexible / hybrid. This is a part‑time, non‑exempt position and is not benefits‑eligible unless otherwise noted.
